Eerdemutu Liu is a Professor and doctoral supervisor at the College of Foreign Languages and Cultures, Jilin University, where he holds the title of Kuang Yaming Elite Professor. He received his BA and MA from the School of Foreign Languages and Literature, Beijing Normal University, and his PhD from the School of Foreign Languages and Literature, Shandong University, including a period of joint doctoral training at the University of London. He can be reached at eerdemutuliu@jlu.edu.cn.His research examines second language acquisition, the psychology of foreign language teaching and learning, and second language writing, with a focus on how learner emotions, motivation, and classroom engagement relate to language achievement. He applies latent profile analysis, multilevel structural equation modeling, and meta-analysis to questions in foreign language education. He is a council member of the Committee on Writing Instruction and Research of the China Association for Comparative Studies of English and Chinese and a dissertation reviewer for the China Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Development Center under the Ministry of Education.
