Gaub’s group in Munich (LMU). He then did his postdoc at School of Pharmacy and Center for Biomolecular Science in The University of Nottingham during the period of 2003-2007. Since June 2007 he became a Professor of Chemistry at Jilin University. His current research interests lie in single-molecule study of supramolecular interactions, polymer crystallization and melting, virus assembly/disassembly, single-molecule mechanochemistry. His research work has been published in prestigious journals such as Nature Communications, Journal of the American Chemical Society, and ACS Macro Letters among many others. He won the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in 2015 and Ten Thousand Talent Plan in 2018.

Research Focus
- Single-molecule study has become one of the hot research areas during recent years. Such study can provide valuable information, which could not be obtained by conventional ensemble measurements, for example the transition state of the protein folding/unfolding. We use atomic force microsc
