Wenke Zhang obtained his Ph.D degree at Jilin University in 2002 under the guidance of Prof. Xi Zhang. During 2001-2002, he worked as a joint-training Ph. D. student in Prof. Hermann E. Gaub’s group in Munich (LMU). He then did his postdoc at School of Pharmacy and Center for Biomolecular Science in The University of Nottingham during the period of 2003-2007. Since June 2007 he became a Professor of Chemistry at Jilin University. His current research interests lie in single-molecule study of supramolecular interactions, polymer crystallization and melting, virus assembly/disassembly, single-molecule mechanochemistry. His research work has been published in prestigious journals such as Nature Communications, Journal of the American Chemical Society, and ACS Macro Letters among many others. He won the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars in 2015 and Ten Thousand Talent Plan in 2018.

• [1] 单分子研究是近年来兴起的一个热门研究方向。通过对单分子的观测及操纵可以获得传统体相平均实验方法所得不到的信息，比如蛋白质折叠／解折叠的中间态。我们利用AFM及单分子力谱等技术在如下领域开展研究工作：1）揭示超分子体系形成的推动力；2）从单个分子水平阐述聚合物的结晶及熔融过程的机理；3）研究病毒颗粒的动态组装及解组装过程；4）高子在力诱导下的化学反应。通过这些研究我们希望从单个分子水平加深对超分子组装结构及其动态组装过程的认识，从而为组装体结构及功能的调控奠定基础。
