In the second half of 2017, Dr Wang joined the faculty in the school of physics as Full Professor at Jilin University. His research is highly interdisciplinary. His current research interests mainly focus on energy-related materials and devices, such as halide perovskite optoelectronics, polymer photovoltaics, machine learning and its application in optoelectronics, energy storage materials and devices, photocatalysis, photoelectric detectors, optical-electrical simulation, and related device physics.
He received his B.Sc. degree in Optical Information Science and Technology from Jilin University in 2005 and his Ph.D. degree in Condensed Matter Physics from The University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2010. Before joining the faculty at Jilin University, he was a Research Fellow in the school of electrical and electronic engineering and school of materials science and engineering at Nanyang Technological University Singapore (Professor Xiao Wei Sun and Professor Qichun Zhang). He worked as Visiting Scholar at Light Technology Institute at Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (Sep. 2014 – Oct. 2014).
