BRIEF BIOGRAPHY

    Guanjun Xiao is currently a full professor of State Key Laboratory of Superhard Materials, Jilin University, China. He was selected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC, 2022) and "Young Changjiang Scholars" of the Ministry of Education (2019) and the first "High Pressure Science Outstanding Young Scholar" (1-2 winners per year). He received his Ph.D. degree (2013) in Condensed Matter Physics under the supervision of academician Prof. Guangtian Zou and Prof. Bo Zou at Jilin University. His scientific interests focus on the high-pressure physics and chemistry of low-dimensional materials, as well as the synthesis and mechanism of new functional semiconductor nanocrystals, which will promote the potential applications in the fields of pressure switch, pressure sensing, trademark security and information storage. He has successfully achieved the energy band modulation, irreversible phase transition, pressure-induced emission (PIE) and emission enhancement (PIEE) of low-dimensional materials. Moreover, he revealed the pressure effects on the electronic structures, phase transition routines, equation of states, and carrier dynamics, which provide new methods for the design and preparation of low dimensional materials with specific functions. In recent years, he has published more than 60 papers in peer-reviewed international journals, including Nature Commun (1), JACS (5), Angew Chem (5), Adv Mater (1), Chem Sci (1), and CCS Chem. (1) etc, which enable the citations exceeding 2200 giving him an h-index of 25. Therein, 3 paper was selected as a highly cited paper by Essential Science Indicators. He has applied more than 10 items of national invention patents, and won the first prize of natural science scholarship of Jilin province. He was appointed as the youth editorial board members for The Innovation, Energy & Environmental Materials (EEM) and SmartMat, the Topic Editor of Materials, and the committee member of 27th European Advanced Materials Congress.
