Abstract : In light of the essential role of typical reinforced PEMs (Gore-SELECT®) in pursuing novel alternatives, we demonstrate for the first time the potent capability of pore-filled semi-crystalline poly (ether ether ketone) membranes that represent by far the most effective polymer materials for methanol blocking of direct methanol fuel cells. The stable structure of poly (ether ether ketone) matrixes contributes to a low swelling behavior so as to restrain the methanol permeation across membranes in high concentration methanol solutions.
