Introduction of Limei Tian

Limei Tian, who studied under academician Ren Luquan, is a professor and Ph.D. supervisor of the Key Laboratory of Bionics Engineering (Ministry of Education) of Jilin University. She was a visiting scientist at University of Manchester, UK. As a young and middle-aged leading talent and innovation team in Jilin Province and the leader of “bionic multifunctional surface construction principle and application innovation team", she once served as Secretary General of Youth Committee of international society of bionic engineering, and now serve as the Secretary General of Enterprise Committee of International Society of Bionic Engineering.

Scientific research ability: The candidate is mainly engaged in basic science and applied technology research work, such as drag reduction, efficiency enhancement, antifouling, anti-corrosion, basic science and application technology of bionic design and manufacturing on multifunctional surface. In the past five years, she has presided over 11 projects, with a total funding of 63.545 million yuan, including the key scientific issues of transformative technology in the key research and development plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology (projects), the general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (2 projects), the weapon exploration project of the general equipment department, the common technology project of the equipment development department, the pre-research fund project, the key achievement transformation project of Jilin Province, the project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and the project of the Jilin province industry university research guidance fund projects. As the first person, she won one first prize of science and technology award of China Federation of Commerce-national business science and Technology Progress Award in 2020 and one patent award of Jilin Province in 2016. She published more than 70 papers in Chem. Eng. J. (IF=10.652), Adv. Mater. Technol. (cover article, IF=5.969), J. Mater. Chem. B (IF=5.344), and Appl. Therm. Eng. (Top journal, IF=4.725). As the first applicant, she applied for 32 invention patents in China, Europe and the United States, and authorized 15 invention patents, including 1 European invention patent and 3 patents, which were converted by the way of patent pricing of 4 million yuan. She successfully raised 47 million yuan, and added 457.6 million yuan for the cooperative enterprise. Two antifouling and anti-corrosion technologies were implemented and applied in ** model ship seawater pipeline and stern rudder.

Teaching ability: In recent 5 years, she has edited and published a book of “The Introduction of Bionics”, compiled the chapter 50 of “The Mechanical Design Manual” (sixth edition) and the chapter 3 of “The Bionic Mechanical Design”. She presided over one collaborative innovation project of the Ministry of education and one educational reform project of Jilin University; participated in one educational reform project; and published one educational reform paper. She supervised 15 graduate students, and one postdoctoral fellow was supported by the youth fund of NSFC; two postdoctoral fellows were supported by the first or second class of postdoctoral fund, respectively; three students were awarded the national scholarships; two students were awarded the second and third prize of international bionic innovation competition, and two graduate students were awarded excellent graduates.

Society Position: She assume the Secretary General of Enterprise Committee of international Bionic Engineering Society (12/01/2019-Now), and the general secretary of Youth Commission of International Society of Bionic Engineering (12/01/2016-12/01/2019).
